The overshirt should be one of the most useful things a man owns and for a lot of guys it just isn’t, because the fit is wrong. Too boxy and it reads as workwear you forgot to change out of. Too slim and it pulls across the shoulders the moment you layer anything underneath. The specific problem we kept running into was length. Cut too short and it looks awkward worn open over a tee. Cut right and it functions as a genuine third layer, something between a shirt and a jacket that actually earns its place in a rotation.

Everything we’ve pulled together here sits at the right length, which means past the hip but not so long it loses its shape. Fabric weight matters too. These are substantial enough to do something against the cold without being so heavy they stop working indoors. Worn open, worn buttoned, worn over a hoodie. These are the ones that understand what the job actually is.
