The zip is where most parkas give themselves away. Done badly, it looks cheap before you've even seen the rest of the coat. A flimsy pull tab, a track that puckers under the storm flap, hardware that oxidizes by February. These details matter more than people admit because a parka lives in exactly the kind of weather that exposes poor construction fastest. We've been looking specifically at parkas where the zip work is actually considered, where the hardware has weight to it, where the placement makes functional sense rather than just adding visual noise.
