Burgundy Jumpers That Go With More Than You'd Think
Burgundy gets underestimated because most men file it under "autumnal" and stop thinking about it there. That's a mistake. A well chosen burgundy jumper sits closer to a neutral than most people expect, and once you start wearing one you realize how much of your existing wardrobe it quietly improves. It works over a white or pale blue oxford. It holds its own with grey trousers, navy chinos, dark denim, even camel outerwear on top. The color has enough warmth to feel considered without trying to be the focal point of an outfit. What we looked for here was weight and fit above everything else. A burgundy jumper in a thin yarn at a boxy cut does the color no favors at all. These are cuts that sit properly across the shoulder and yarns that give the color the depth it deserves. Crew necks and some V necks for layering. Every one of them earns its place in a rotation that goes well past October.
