Red is the one color in a man’s wardrobe that most guys either avoid entirely or get completely wrong. Too bright and you look like a racing driver’s sponsor. Too washed out and it just looks like you couldn’t commit. The sweet spot is a red that reads as considered rather than loud, which is harder to find than it should be. We’ve been specifically looking at cuts with the right amount of structure through the shoulder, fabrics that don’t go see-through after three washes, and hem lengths that work tucked and untucked. Crew necks mostly, because a V-neck in red asks questions nobody wants to answer. These are the ones that work with grey trousers, with dark denim, with a navy overshirt thrown on top when the temperature drops. Not statement pieces in the exhausting sense. Just a really good red t-shirt that makes getting dressed in the morning feel like less of a negotiation.
